About the Scholarships

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation works closely with community supporters and generous donors to provide scholarship opportunities to seniors in the Las Cruces Public School District. The Foundation is proud to administer these scholarships in order to help students pursue their higher education goals. The scholarships range from $500 to $2000. Contact the Foundation at the contact information if you are interested in setting up a scholarship! The scholarships currently funded through the Foundation are:
THE DEBI TRUE ROUNDS SCHOLARSHIP: The Debi True Rounds Memorial Scholarship is in honor of the late wife of Past Superintendent Stan Rounds. It is intended that the funds will provide one $500 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from the Las Cruces school district who participated in marching band during his/her high school years who plans to major in music or music education at New Mexico State University.
THE J. PAUL TAYLOR SCHOLARSHIP: It is intended that the funds will provide one $500 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from the Las Cruces school district who plans to major in education at New Mexico State University.
THE GREATER LAS CRUCES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DACC SCHOLARSHIP: It is intended that the funds will provide one $500 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from the Las Cruces school district who plans to attend Doña Ana Community College full time.
THE S.A.V.E. SCHOLARSHIP: In conjunction with the Picacho Middle School Quilting Association, the funds for this scholarship are intended to provide one $1500 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from the Las Cruces school district who plans to attend a New Mexico university, community college or vocational school.
The S.A.V.E. SCHOLARSHIP FOR FORMER PICACHO MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS:In conjunction with the Picacho Middle School Quilting Association, the funds for this scholarship are intended to provide for students who attended Picacho Middle School for at least 2 years during their middle schools years one $1000 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from the Las Cruces school district who plans to attend a New Mexico university, community college or vocational school.
The BONNIE BURN EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP (League of Women Voter’s of Greater Las Cruces): In conjunction with the League of Women Voters of Greater Las Cruces and the Reed Burn Family, this scholarship in honor of Bonnie Burn, is intended to provide one $1000 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from the Las Cruces school district who plans to major in education at New Mexico State University in the College of Education.
The DAVIDSON FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: In conjunction with the Davidson Foundation, the funds will provide one $2000 (non-renewable) scholarship to a graduating senior from the Las Cruces school district who plans to attend any university in the state of New Mexico and major in Special Education.
